School Development

Education has played a pivotal role in shaping opportunities, building awareness, and enabling informed choices. In forest-fringe regions, educated youth become valuable stakeholders in conservation, community development, and sustainable livelihoods. Recognising this, and through the generous contribution of our esteemed explorers at Kalyaan Mitra, we strengthened educational infrastructure at a school in the Mudholi area. The initiative included the provision of essential learning resources such as books, blackboards, and school bags, directly supporting over 30 students. Implemented in close collaboration with the school’s headmaster, this intervention aimed to improve day-to-day educational functioning and create long-term impact by empowering young learners with access to quality educational resources.

Sports Infrastructure Development Initiative – November 2025

Primary Place: Bhamdeli, Moharli

Initiative: Equipping a high school with sports infrastructure, primarily from standard 8th to 10th .

Impact Created:

A school of 37 students was equipped with modern sports infrastructure, including a full cricket kit, badminton court setup, chess boards, football, basketball, hockey, lagori equipment, and more. The initiative also supported ground development for regular sports activities, creating a safe and inclusive space for physical growth. With a generous contribution of this effort not only upgraded infrastructure but also committed to the long-term sustenance and upkeep of these facilities to ensure continued impact.

In November 2025, the Kalyaan Mitra Foundation undertook a meaningful sports infrastructure development initiative at a local high school in Moharli, with the generous support of our guests British nationals whose commitment to philanthropy and community welfare made this initiative possible.

The school, with 37 students from Grades 8 to 10, had limited access to basic sports facilities—an essential element for physical health, teamwork, discipline, and emotional well-being. These values strongly align with Kalyaan Mitra’s vision of nurturing balanced and resilient communities around protected forest areas.

To address this gap, the Foundation equipped the school with quality sports infrastructure, including newly developed badminton and volleyball courts, cricket kits, chess boards, skipping ropes, and traditional games such as lagori. All equipment was installed and made operational on the ground, allowing students to begin using the facilities immediately.

The enthusiasm and joy seen among the children highlighted the true impact of this initiative. Beyond physical fitness, structured sports help build confidence, leadership, and a sense of responsibility among young people. In forest-dependent regions like Tadoba, the holistic development of local youth plays a vital role in fostering awareness, reducing conflict, and strengthening long-term conservation efforts.
By investing in the well-being of the youth, this initiative contributes not only to individual growth but also to the sustainable future of the forests and communities of Tadoba.

Supporting Primary Response Teams – November 2025

Initiative: Empowering Tadoba’s frontline response teams with critical resources and ongoing support to enhance on-ground action.

Primary Place: Moharli, Tadoba

Tangibles Donated: Protective gear, essential response equipment, winter jackets, boots, water bottles, and other field necessities.

Impact Created: Strengthened and empowered nearly 6 Primary Response Teams, 24 Members, across Tadoba (Moharli,  Bhamdeli, Sitarampeth, Kondegaon, Mudholi)  by equipping them with reliable tools for on-ground action. Beyond resources, this initiative fostered a dependable support ecosystem—ensuring teams have a trusted platform to seek assistance and address evolving needs whenever required.

As part of our commitment to conservation and community safety, the Kalyaan Mitra Foundation carried out a second major initiative in November 2025 to support the Primary Response Teams (PRTs) across forest-fringe villages. PRTs are voluntary groups formed by local villagers who work closely with the Forest Department, assisting in crucial wildlife-related situations such as man–animal conflict, cattle lifting incidents, and monitoring irregular activities around forest areas.

Although they act as a frontline force, PRT members often lack basic protective gear and essential equipment, despite working tirelessly in challenging outdoor conditions. Recognizing their invaluable contribution, we equipped them with winter jackets, hats, water bottles, and durable outdoor shoes to support their day-to-day responsibilities.

This initiative aims to strengthen their capacity, ensure safety during field duties, and acknowledge their vital role in conservation and in safeguarding both forests and communities. More support, including for women volunteers, is planned in the coming months.
