About The Park

Located in India’s northeastern state of Assam, the Kaziranga National Park is full of exotic species. Known for its Indian rhinoceros or greater one-horned rhinoceros, it is also home to the very rare Eastern swamp deer. Approximately two-thirds of the world’s Indian rhinos thrive here, which is a real testimony to the great conservation efforts that have been implemented. Kaziranga’s 430 sq. km boasts a high density of tigers, elephants and wild water buffaloes. Out of the 35 mammalian species found in the park, at least 15 are threatened as per the IUCN Red List. The habitat is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, and marshland and is crisscrossed by four major rivers. Its ravishing beauty can only be imagined until you visit this pristine green heaven.
